Spirit of Anakin Skywalker
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
v.1 October 2005 ~ v.2 May 2007
When the original Star Wars trilogy was released on DVD in 2004 I was very excited about the addition at the end of Return of the Jedi. Replacing Sebastian Shaw's visage with Hayden Christensen's not only made the scene much more emotionally powerful for me, it also gave me the opportunity to do another costume while keeping the same hairstyle from my Revenge of the Sith costume.
My first version of this costume was finished in late 2005. It was made in non-ghostly colors and I used my ROTS robe instead of making a new one. I wore this version only once and quickly retired it. I revisited the spirit outfit shortly before Celebration IV in early 2007. This time around I sprayed my new tunic and robe with a light blue spray paint and metallic (read: glittery) finish spray. I also used shimmery blue eye shadow to cover my face, hair and hands to complete the ghostly appearance.

::: Outer Tunic and Robe
My outer tunic and obi was made by my girlfriend and I out of osnaburg fabric. This is a lightweight, tan/beige fabric that resembles the worn and aged look of Obi-Wan's tunic in the original trilogy. I decided to not include the long, over the shoulder tabard that Obi-Wan has because I could not see any evidence that Anakin's spirit had one. After sewing it together I misted it with a light blue spray paint.
The robe was purchased online and painted in the same fashion.
::: Belt
I made my belt out of a leather blank from Tandy Leather and a buckle cut out of a sheet of aluminum. The belt attaches with velcro in the back.
::: Boots
My boots have been made in full leather, custom fit to my measurements. They stand 19" tall, not including the rubber sole.
