Dragon Dagger (November 2008)

My favorite Power Ranger was, and will forever be, the original Green Ranger. I'm not sure what exactly it was that made him that much better than the rest but his weapon, the Dragon Dagger, certainly helped set him apart. Not only was it a bladed weapon but it also doubled as a flute, which when played could boost his already godly powers to make him near invincible. It also could summon the mighty Dragonzord from the depths of the ocean to stomp on guys in rubber monster suits. Yeah, that totally rocks.

The toy version of the Dagger was a sacred possession of mine as a kid but today, as a prop and screen-accuracy nut, it just doesn't hold up. I was able to find a prop maker that had made an excellent version that was damn near identical in size, shape and detail to the original Japanese prop. I bought one in kit form, assembled and painted it and now proudly own the most rockin' weapon/musical instrument known to man.
